Bio

Lynn “Lynnix” Elishaw, 29, is the daughter of a registered nurse mom and an insurance manager dad who came to Los Angeles in 1976 from Calcutta, India. Born of Portuguese and Indian decent she is the youngest of three by a 10 and 11 years. She has two older brothers, one in computer science, the other in auto and home mechanics.

Lynn Elishaw is a certified English Language Arts Teacher with over 10 years of experience in the field of education. She has worked with many kinds of students ranging from age 5-18 all over the San Fernando Valley, including both Burbank and Los Angeles Unified School Districts. From a poetry mentor for incarcerated youth at Camp David Gonzales in Malibu, to English Language tutor for No Child Left Behind low income, low performing students (who were indeed in need of extra assistance), to special students, and to the economically well-off, Lynn has gained a wealth of experience from all genres and types of students.

Recently she was “divinely inspired” to develop a workshop that includes both poetry and art combined called PoArtry. She has taught the class to young adults all the way to seniors.

Ms. Elishaw is also a deeply in-tune Spiritual Artist. She began art at age 8 with the assistance of her father and has not stopped since. Her father taught her how to use paints, but is it was she who created the signature imagery. Early in 2000, she began to focus on her own Moments of Transformation. She then developed an uncanny and entirely idiosyncratic approach to capturing those moments. Because of it she evolved into a Manifest Painter where clients commission her to paint pieces that they may meditate on to create their own manifestations. She often is found in the underground poetry scene at cafes and restaurants painting live to the background of jazz, dj-ing, poetry and the like. She has been commissioned by friends, relatives, spiritual organizations (i.e. Unity Bridges, Reverence Project) yoga teachers, and musicians.

Along with painting Lynn Elishaw is a Performance Poet and Singer. She delivers poetry all over the city of Los Angeles in cafes, restaurants, spiritual retreats, and schools. She has sung at these venues as well and was part of a poetry band as the main vocalist. She is currently working on an a capella CD of her music called “Alien Fondue”

She is also a certified Tian Gong energy and celestial language healer.

Lynn has traveled all over the world to the many cities of India, France, Spain, Portugal, and Italy (twice, one for vacation, another to sing with her choir), along with London, Singapore, Australia, New York, Florida, the Bahamas, Hawaii, and up and down the coast of California.

Currently she works as a substitute teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District and as a private English tutor for Club Z! and CATS. She is part of a collective of women called Ah-womb who do spiritual freestyle toning performance and healing work. She resides at home in Granada Hills and helps as a Caretaker with her mother for her father who had quintuple bypass heart surgery and 4 strokes 11 years ago.

*The nickname “Lynnix” derived back in 2005 where she wore a self made Halloween costume of a phoenix.
